Gulf Shores rolled to its second consecutive Class 5A Area 1 championship to open the postseason over the weekend with three straight shutouts.

Tia Titi lifted 3 home runs in the first game (15-0 over B.C. Rain) and Anna-Leigh Price threw a no-hitter in the second game (15-0 over Elberta) on Friday before a 1-hit effort (10-0 over Elberta) on Saturday locked it up.

The Dolphins earned the top seed in the South Regional Championship which is set to begin on May 6 in Gulf Shores.

Class 5A helped kick off the postseason this past week where the rest of Baldwin County’s representatives were set to open their area tournaments on Monday, April 29.

In Game 1 for Gulf Shores, Maddie Beshears (3), Emily Smith (3), Rhyleah Gleber (2), Camryn Nowlin (2) and Chloe Stewart (2) all had multiple hits. Madi Nelson supplied 2 hitless innings in the circle with 5 strikeouts.

Price did it all in Game 2 with a 3-for-3 day at the plate with a double and triple and 3 RBIs then also struck out 8 over 4 innings without surrendering a hit. Titi (3), Nelson (3), KK Jacks (2) and Anayia McCutchen (2) added multi-hit games for the Dolphins offensively.

In the clincher, Price yielded only 1 hit over 4 innings with 7 strikeouts before Jacks finished with 2 hitless innings and 2 strikeouts. Titi registered 2 doubles and 4 RBIs and Taylor Bjorgum recorded 3 hits and scored 3 runs.
