Mike Edward Dawson, age 56, of Daphne, Alabama entered eternal life on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 at his residence in Daphne.
Mike was born on Oct. 29, 1959 at Carson City, Michigan, the son of Virgil and Barbara (Coville) Dawson. He graduated from Alma High School in 1977.
He worked for the DNR at Higgins Lake, Michigan and as a policeman at Daphne, Alabama.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He was united in marriage with Christine Jordan at Grace Lutheran Church of Alma, Michigan on June 28, 1980. Their marriage of 36 years was blessed by the Lord with two daughters.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Dawson.
He is survived by his wife, Christine "Chris" of Daphne, Alabama; his two daughters, Amanda (Hector) Ramos and Tenneille Dawson, both of Daphne; his mother, Barbara Dawson of Alma, Michigan; one brother, Dan (Mae) Dawson of Alma, Michigan; two sisters, Dorothy Pellerito of Alma, Michigan and Mary (Kevin) McCoy of Sumner, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Vicki (William) Balza of Ocala, Florida, Janis Collver of Jackson, Michigan and Laurie Stroyan of Grand Ledge, Michigan; plus uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, 5 until 7 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
Services will be conducted on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church.
He will lie in state at the church, 2 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow in Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
