16 arrested in countywide drug bust

Posted

Last week, law enforcement officials from across Baldwin County announced a series of arrests in conjunction with a months-long investigation into a Baldwin County drug ring.

The drug sting, initiated by the Safe Streets Task Force, a partnership between federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies, served seven search warrants shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning on locations in Fairhope, Daphne and Summerdale.

“Today was not the beginning, and it certainly was not the end,” Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack said.

FBI Special Agent Robert Lasky said the sting “took a big hit out of the drug trade in Baldwin County” and said more actions and charges are likely to come from the still ongoing investigation.

Mack said he was thankful for the cooperation and support from the different law enforcement agencies involved in helping to keep drugs off the streets of Baldwin County’s cities.

“This operation went very good, very smooth and very safe,” Mack said. “It was all over in a matter of minutes. Ultimately, we want everyone to be safe and for these individuals to have their day in court.

While at least 16 individuals have been charged in relation to this sting, two individuals were brought before a judge last week on federal drug charges. Schuyler Jarrod “Rock” Miller and Brian Deshon “Petey” Miller were both served warrants for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

According to FBI Special Agent Shawn Castillo, officers seized a large amount of crack cocaine, cash, two large weapons and three handguns from the various sites.

“We’re not sure on the exact amount of the narcotics right now,” Mack said. “It was a lot of crack cocaine and we’re still calculating how much.”

Other individuals arrested in the search were:

Eduardo Moreno Pimento, Victor James, Jose Romero, John Pierce, Trenere Johnson, Damarius Milton, Raymon Black, Christopher Ethridge, Francheska Kimble, Byron Sledge, Jeffrey Shaw, Catherine Henry, Robert Adams and Jesse Adams.
