• Nine Baldwin players named to ASWA All-State teams

MONTGOMERY— The Alabama Sports Writers Association has announced the 2016 All-State high school baseball teams. The ASWA voted on a pitcher, hitter and overall player of the year in each of the seven Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) classifications and the AISA (Alabama Independent Schools Association).

Several Baldwin County athletes were voted All-State by the AWSA. Fairhope had two players voted to Class 7A All-State. Robertsdale had three players and Spanish Fort one voted to Class 6A All-State. Bayside Academy had three players voted to Class 3A All-State.

 Class 7A: FIRST TEAM: Mason Lockhart, Fairhope (Designated hitter). HONORABLE MENTION: Peyton Galich, Fairhope (Outfield).

Class 6A: FIRST TEAM: Will Carnley,  Robertsdale (Pitcher). Hunter Stokes, Spanish Fort (Designated hitter).  SECOND TEAM: 3B - Tyler Reeves,  Robertsdale (Third base). HONORABLE MENTION:  Brandon Broussard,  Robertsdale (Designated hitter).
