DAPHNE, Ala. — Have you heard about the 22nd Annual Jubilee Festival coming Sept. 25-26 in Olde Towne Daphne? If not, here's a crash course on one of the Eastern Shore's most anticipated events.
*WHO: The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce
*WHAT: The 22nd Annual Jubilee Festival featuring some of the finest artists and crafts makers in the region.
*WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25-26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
*WHERE: Main Street (Scenic 98), Olde Towne Daphne, in front of City Hall and in Centennial Park. Festival stage located in front City Hall.
*PRICE: Attendance to the festival is free.
Tickets sold for children to participate in the variety of activities at Kids Art in the Park. Eight booths will be set up for children to explore their creative side. They will also be invited to paint their creations on a fence. Tickets to participate cost 50 cents each. One to six tickets are required for participation.
Students at area schools will each get two free tickets. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
*WHY: To celebrate community spirit and help raise funds for the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce.
*ETC:
—Two full days of live entertainment featuring local talent on the festival stage.
—Food court providing classic festival foods and snack and beverage booths scattered throughout the festival.
—Magnets, stickers, T-shirts and posters with festival artwork will be for sale at the information booth.
—Artists are awarded with cash prizes (total value $4,400). Artists are also recognized with the Art Patrons Award. Committee members and residents announce their selection of work with special ribbons upon making a purchase.
—Large-screen TV set up in City Hall viewing college and professional football games throughout the festival.
—Prodisee Pantry will have a booth at the Jubilee Festival, in the food court, selling drinks and water as a fundraiser for the pantry.
You can bring a canned item to donate and help the pantry replenish its shelves. The nonprofit organization serves more than 700 families a month.
—Many volunteers come together each year to plan and coordinate the festival.

Directions to the Jubilee Festival in Daphne, Ala:
*If traveling from the West (Mississippi, Louisiana)
—Traveling I-10, take Exit 35A and turn right on Highway 98 east.
—Follow 98 east until you reach the seventh traffic light.
—Turn right on Whispering Pines Road and drive one block.
—Turn left on Main Street and follow Main to the festival site.
*If traveling from the East (Florida, Georgia):
—Traveling I-10 take Exit 35A and turn left on 98 east.
—Follow Highway 98 until you reach the eighth traffic light.
—Turn right on Whispering Pines Road and drive one block.
—Turn left on Main Street and follow Main to the Festival site.
*If traveling South on I-65 (from Montgomery):
—Traveling I-65 South take Exit 31.
—Turn left on Highway 225 south and continue for 20 miles.
—Highway 225 dead-ends at the traffic light at Highway 31 south.
—Turn right on Highway 31 south (Spanish Fort Boulevard) and drive .02 mile.
—Turn left on Highway 98 east and follow Highway 98 to the eighth traffic light.
—Turn right on Whispering Pines Road and drive one block.
—Turn left on Main Street and follow Main to the festival site.
