The 3rd nine weeks ended on Monday, March 12th. Report cards will go home with students on Friday, March 23rd.

From the Principal: Spring Break is just around the corner and so is testing. The ARMT+ Testing Dates are April 10th - 13th for BOTH 7th and 8th grades.  Please make sure that doctor’s or dentist’s appointments are not scheduled during this time.  Students cannot be called out of their classrooms for check-out during testing. Please make sure that during this time your student gets plenty of rest, arrives on time to school and eats a good breakfast each day. With your help, the students will be prepared and will do their best on the test.

The Magnolia House had an awesome time at the Special Olympics Field Games in Fairhope last Friday. Oscar Stoltz won two ribbons (a 1st place for Tennis ball throw and a 2nd place for the wheel chair race). Sean Cleverdon won three medals (two 1st places for running and one 2nd place for shot put throw). Dylan Hawthorne won one ribbon (2nd place for running). Awesome job guys!!

Mr. Hood and his students would like to thank all of the FEC members who attended and helped to make this event successful. A special thanks goes to the following members of the FEC: Kieran Ryan, Shelby Storozuk, Anna Gilbert, Matthew Horton, Sheana Sullivan, Madison Taylor, Mason Davis, Oneisha Maye, and Courtney Smith. Way to go FEC! Also, a big thanks and salute to Mr. Carneal from Safety Coatings of Foley for your support. Your contributions and good will for our class have helped us to continue sponsorship of FEC and participation in Special Olympics. Thanks to Mrs. Nelson as well for all of your help and support!

The BUY ONE GET ONE FREE Book Fair will be held in the library loft April 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Students will receive info from their Literature teachers.

Foley Middle School will be performing the musical ‘Oklahoma’ on May 15th and 17th. Ms. Raines’ classes are working with Ms. Mandy Batts, a Theatre Professional, to prepare for their big performance. Students have auditioned for the Show and the Cast has been set. All 120 students will be involved in the production in some capacity. Presently the students have been working on the Farmer and the Cowman Dance. They will debut this number on March 22nd at 6:00 pm at Foley Elementary School, where many other “Arts” experiences from the county will be showcased. Please mark your calendars and plan to support Foley Middle Schools Drama Students. They are working hard and are very excited about their performances in May.

When a student is sick they must go to the nurse. They cannot use their personal cell phones to call or text home. They are given a pass from the teacher to go to the nurse and the nurse will call you if the student needs to go home.
