BAY MINETTE - The Baldwin County grand jury will review evidence against three alleged cocaine traffickers and one suspect charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Maxine Griswold Woodruff, 51, of Grand Bay, was arrested Sept. 22 after authorities allegedly found 66 grams of powder cocaine in her possession, according to a deposition filed in Baldwin County District Court.

Woodruff was allegedly attempting to sell the drugs during an undercover narcotic buy-bust operation at Arby’s parking lot on U.S. Highway 90 in Daphne, according to court documents.

Woodruff was bound over Oct. 25 and remains incarcerated at Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette.

Other suspects bound over to the grand jury include:

• Joey Lee Wilhite, 29, of Fairway Drive in Robertsdale, charged with cocaine trafficking in Fairhope.

According to a deposition filed by Fairhope Police officer Trent Scott, lawmen stopped Wilhite’s vehicle Sept. 29 near Twin Beech Road west of Greeno Road near Fairhope High School.

Scott said he found cocaine in Wilhite’s car seat.

Scott stated he asked Wilhite “where the rest was.” Wilhite allegedly replied, “in my crotch.” Scott stated he found a large bag of cocaine in that location.

The warrant stated more than 28 grams, but less than 500 grams of cocaine was seized.

Wilhite was bound over Oct. 25 and remains in jail on bail set at $100,000.

• Matthew Shane Wooten, 41, of County Road 3 in Fairhope, arrested Sept. 29 and charged with cocaine trafficking after Fairhope Police officer Charles Varnado allegedly discovered 28 grams of cocaine in Wooten’s possession.

According to court records, Varnado was on routine patrol when he saw Wooten moving around in his vehicle parked behind a closed business near Fairhope High School.

During a patdown, Varnado stated he discovered powder cocaine in Wooten’s left pocket. More cocaine was allegedly found, totaling 28 grams, according to court records.

Wooten was bound over Oct. 25 and is free on bail set at $25,000. District Judge Jody Bishop also ordered Wooten to adhere to electronic monitoring.

• Cecil Bradford Woodworth, 37, of Glenwood Way in Wilmer, was pulled over for a traffic violation near Greeno Road and County Road 44 Oct. 1 by Fairhope Police officer Trent Scott, according to a deposition.

Scott described Woodworth as “very nervous, paranoid and appearing very intoxicated.”

During a search of the vehicle, Scott stated he found three Ziplock bags containing methamphetamine, 21 Darvaset pills and one Lortab.

Woodworth was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Bail was set at $7,500 and Woodworth was released Oct. 8 after spending seven days in Baldwin County Corrections Center, according to court records.
