FOLEY, Alabama — A 43-Year-old Foley man has been identified as the boater killed in an accident on Fish River Tuesday night.

Tom Timothy Hall, 43, of Foley, was killed when he and two other passengers were thrown from a 14-foot Cape Horn at around 7:25 p.m. Tuesday on Fish River just south of the Honey Road boat ramp, according to a release issued Wednesday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Hall was the only other passenger not to return to the vessel. The operator and two other passengers were not injured. Those thrown from the vessel were not wearing personal floatation devices, according to the release.

Officials with the Orange Beach Dive Team said their crew located and recovered Hall's body. Melvin Shepard, the city's beach safety director and a member of the dive team, said Hall had purchased the boat recently and was taking it out for a test drive when the incident occurred.

According to reports, Hall’s body was recovered just after midnight. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Marine Patrol Division, Marlow Volunteer Fire Department, Daphne Search and Rescue and North Baldwin Search and Rescue assisted in the search.

Alabama State Troopers from ALEA’s Marine Patrol continue to investigate the accident.
