STAPLETON, Alabama —The Third Annual Martha Ann Hinton Memorial Scholarship Ride is in the history books and was a success.

Riders from around the county and other states joined in helping raise funds for this worthwhile scholarship. While the day started out overcast, there was no rain and 50-plus bikes participated in the ride that followed back country roads.

Upon returning to Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department riders were served a meal and following were door prizes and an auction where fun was had by all.

Entertainment was provided by “Aces and Eights.” Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club Station 1001 sponsors

the ride to honor the memory of Hinton, a long-timeeducator who was killedby a drunk driver threeyears ago.

Steve Williams, president of Station 1001 would like to thank the following businesses for their donations for without them the door prizes and auction would not have been possible:

Advance Auto Parts, Adventure Motor Sports, Auto Zone Auto Parts, Café Arcadia, Campbell Hardware, Coastal Industrial Supply, Eagle’s Talon, Equipment Tool Expo, Goo Roo’s, Joan’s Beauty Shop, Kubota, Mc2, Mike’s Saw & Cycle Shop, Middleton Auto Parts, NAPA, O’Riley’s Auto Parts, Pensacola Harley Davidson, Racine’s Feed, Garden & Supply, Robertsdale Power Equipment, Trendz’s Hair Salon, T Town Harley Davidson (Tuscaloosa, Ala.), Wright’s Auto Parts, Willy T’s.

Williams would also like to thank the members of Fire and Iron Station 114 Gulf Port Mississippi and Road Riders for Jesus Chapter 110 Bay Minette for their help. Many hands make light work.

He would also like to give a huge thanks to Loxley Volunteer Fire Department, Rabun Volunteer Fire Department, City of Bay Minette Police Department, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department for allowing them to have the event at the station and members for help in setting this event up. Last, but definitely not least, we want to thank everyone that came out and supported this event.

A total of $1,500 was raised and will go toward the scholarship.
