62nd Annual Baldwin County Fair set to begin Tuesday in Robertsdale

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama --- It will be a “Fall A-Fair” beginning Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Baldwin County Coliseum and Fairgrounds in Robertsdale. That’s the theme for the 62nd annual Baldwin County Cattle & Fair Association’s Baldwin County Fair, located at 19477 Fairground Road, behind the high school.

Admission on Tuesday and Wednesday is $10, which includes all rides and entertainment with gates opening at 3 p.m.

Tuesday is “Salute to Agriculture Day.” The Myers International Midway opens at 5 p.m. with street fair music and food daily on the outside plaza. The Midway opens at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Thursday is students and senior citizens day with $6 admission for adults and free admission for children under 12, with a $5 student coupon good for free student admission.

The Midway opens at 5 p.m. with $20 arm bands for unlimited rides and $5 off arm bands for students until 6 p.m.

The annual Sweet Potato Cook-off begins at 4 p.m. with the George P. Thames Senior Citizens Center Kazoo Band set to perform at 5 p.m., followed by the Rockin-ettes at 5:30 p.m. in the Coliseum. The Southern Legends Band will perform from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will also be a youth chicken swap event beginning at 5 p.m.

Gates open at 3 p.m. on Friday with admission $6 for adults, and free for children under 12. The Midway opens at 5 p.m. with ticketed rides only until 10 p.m. Midnight Madness will be held from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. with $20 arm bands for unlimited Midway rides.

On Friday and Saturday, Bo Campbell Rodeo Productions presents its annual rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. with a calf scramble at 8:30 p.m. both nights in the Baldwin County Arena.

Gates open at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $6 for adults, free for children under 12. Ride the Midway from noon to 5 p.m. with $15 arm bands for unlimited rides. Ticketed rides only will be from 5 p.m. until close.

The Baldwin County Youth Orchestra will perform at 1 p.m.

Daily shows include the Star Family Circus and Thrill Show, Motorcycle Daredevils in the Globe of Death, Space Wheel of Destiny, plus corn shelling, sugar cane press, slab cutter saw and blacksmithing demonstrations. Look for show times to be posted at the Fair.

There will also be a Baldwin Baptist children’s craft tent, duckling pond and barnyard exhibits.

The South Alabama Antique Tractor & Engine Club exhibits are held beginning at 5 p.m. daily in the Arena. There will also be a kids’ pedal tractor pull beginning at 5 p.m. daily inside the Arena.

Daily inside the Coliseum will be exhibits from the West Florida Railroad Museum and Emerald Coast Railway Club, along with JJ’s Old Tyme Photos, Pysanky Egg display and entertainment by Tim Brown.
