A Walk Through Bethlehem

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Bethel Baptist Church in Robertsdale presented its annual drama, “Walk Through Bethlehem,” Friday through Sunday of last week. This small community church aside U.S. Highway 90 transformed into a quaint settlement of ancient times past.

The interactive experience featured over 50 church members, each dressed and coached to portray characters genuine to the biblical account. The set was built with striking attention to detail, from the elaborately painted city walls to the horses, sheep, cattle and other animals that also participated in the event.

One excited attendee remarked, “Once I entered the city, I felt like I was there. It was night time; and the lighting made everything so dramatic. I was completely whisked away by their efforts and by the overall realism.”

“The dedication shown by every man, woman and child involved in creating what I saw was amazing. From the first theatrical moment, it was absolutely captivating,” she said.

The drama drew hundreds of people together in one place, and provided an enriching holiday experience for those who attended.
