FOLEY - On July 19, Academy Sports + Outdoors in Foley hosted a back-to-school shopping spree for 30 local youths. Young students from the John McClure Snook Youth Club could partake in the business’ annual Back-to-School event. During the event, all 30 students received a $100 Academy gift card to use towards products to help them start the next school year in style, such as uniforms, athletic apparel, backpacks, shoes, and other school necessities during the donation. 2017 marks the program’s eighth year, and during the time that the program has been running, it has grown to include over 100 similar events, benefiting over 3,000 kids throughout the Southeast and Midwest U.S.

“Working with the John McClure Snook Youth Club of Foley to organize the event was a joy,” said Karly Markova, Communications Specialist of Academy Sports + Outdoors. “They were so grateful when we reached out to them. We are happy to have been able to partner with them to help make back-to-school shopping easier for their members. Donating at back-to-school time is an annual commitment here at Academy Sports + Outdoors.
