Verlie Gipson Rozum Adams, 72, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at her residence with family and friends with her.
After working as a cosmetologist in Fairhope for many years she attended college and obtained her degree in elementary education. She taught in the Fairhope schools for 25 years, and eventually obtained her Master’s Degree.
She was a charter member of the Fairhope Avenue Baptist Mission, a member of the ADK teaching sorority, and lately a member of the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include a sister-in-law Patty Gipson; two sons, Tommy (Kristi) Rozum of Fairhope and Clay (Maria) Adams of Fairhope; two daughters, Terry Rozum of Malbis and Kathy (Louis) McBride of Fairhope; four grandchildren, Joanne Gilheart (Jeremy Scribe), Hayes Adams, Grey Adams and Grady Rozum; and one great-grandchild, Jade Scribe.
Visitation begins at 3 p.m. with funeral services at 5 p.m. Monday, May 4 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope with Rev. Bill Bagby officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
