The Courier’s article published Saturday, May 22, regarding fired school principal Donald L. Johnson is clear evidence that our school system is inefficient and poorly operated.

This fellow has been paid about $165,000 plus generous benefits for doing nothing over the past two years. And we are paying extra sales taxes to fund this kind of nonsense!

Any reasonable system would allow 30 days to gather and hear evidence and make a decision. The referenced 59-page legal opinion merely keeps a lawyer busy for several months instead of reaching a decision.

The Teachers Union is largely responsible for this red-tape; however our own management is also guilty. When is the public going to insist on responsible management and more affordable benefits for teachers plus a good education for our kids?
