SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Spanish Fort Mayor Pro Tem Mike McMillan announced during an informal work session at City Hall Friday morning that the Alabama Department of Transportation will close a portion of U.S. Highway at Alabama Highway 225 to address a drainage issue.

The area is expected to be closed from about 7 a.m. until noon, and McMillan said the date was chosen to coincide with students being out of school for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
