A tour of the Tensaw-Mobile Delta aboard the “Delta Explorer” with docking for lunch at a Causeway restaurant to celebrate Leap Year is offered by Blakeley State Park Feb. 29.

The 50-passenger “Delta Explorer” will depart from the Blakeley State Park dock at 9:30 a.m., dock late morning at the Blue Gill Restaurant for pre-ordered lunch meal of either broiled fish or chicken, and return to the park by 1 p.m.

Cost of the special tour is $35 for adults and includes tour, meal, drink and tip. Reservations are recommended as the Leap Year tour is already booking requests and is expected to sell out. For reservations call 626-5581 and make payment using major credit card.

Blakeley Park also makes its “Delta Explorer” available for charter groups and for other regular and special tours. All proceeds of all boat trips go toward operating the park.

Blakeley Park is located on State Hwy 225 about five miles north of its intersection with U.S. 31 at Spanish Fort. Visitors are asked to allow at least 10 minutes to get from the park gate on Hwy. 225 to the boat dock on the Tensaw River.

For general information about the park call 626-0798 or go to www.blakeleypark. com.
