FOLEY, Ala. — Despite muddy grounds at the Foley Sports Complex over the weekend, the 10th annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival went on as planned.
Organizers did say that early Friday morning rain meant the public had to park at Tanger Outlets Friday and hitch free trolley rides to the day’s event. However, by Saturday the ground was dry enough to enable 39 balloonists to participate, with several taking to the air Saturday evening before returning for the annual balloon glow at dusk.
The 10th annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival once again drew crowds. In addition to the balloons, attractions included children’s games and activities, live music and a spate of vendors offering wares and concessions.
