Billy Joe “Bill” Allbritton, 70, a native of Mt. Ida, Ark., and a resident of Bay Minette, died Thursday, May, 14, 2009 at North Baldwin Infirmary.

He retired as a captain with the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a school teacher for 10 years at Bay Minette Middle School.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Lee Allbritton of Bay Minette; son, David B. Allbritton of New York; daughter, Chanetta L. (Roger) Case of Greenbrier, Ark.; one granddaughter, A. Roxanne Case of Greenbrier; his parents, J.W. and Neva Graham Allbritton of Pine Bluff, Ark.; brother, James Allbritton of Arkansas; two sisters, Nina Sue (Clyde) Ellison and Charlotte (Donnie Phillips of Pine Bluff.

Funeral services and visitation were held Monday, May 18 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Chip Starnes, the Rev. Dr. henry Cox and the Rev. Bill Carr officiating. Interment followed at Bay Minette Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.

Active pallbearers were the ushers at First Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the First Baptist Church.
