Jermaine Mabon, 37, of South Oak Street, was indicted Dec. 28 on charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, according to court records.
On April 11, Mabon allegedly tried to steal a car belonging to David Hayes. Court records state Mabon pulled Hayes from the vehicle and beat him unconscious.
Hayes sustained skull fractures and required stitches on his face, mouth and neck, according to a warrant filed in Baldwin County District Court.
