Alleged HIV-positive suspect spits on Fairhope officer

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Baldwin County grand jury will review evidence against a Fairhope man who allegedly expectorated on a police officer and said he was HIV positive.

George J. Mackey, 36, of Kirkman Lane was arrested June 6 and charged with second-degree assault after his spittle allegedly made contact with the arms and neck of a Fairhope Police officer, according to District Court records.

Mackey remains at the Baldwin County Corrections Center with no bond.

Other cases headed for the grand jury include:

• Christina Diane Craig, 29, of Linton Lane in Foley, charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Authorities arrested Craig July 8 in a business parking lot on McKenzie Street. According to court documents, her vehicle contained methamphetamine and ingredients for manufacturing.

She was released on a $50,000 bail.

• Marvin Lamar Dunn, of County Road 68, Loxley, charged with second-degree assault after allegedly using a frying pan and shotgun to seriously injure a female.

Dunn was arrested June 24, and was released on a $5,000 bail, records state.

• John Junior Walker, 30, of Majesty Loop, Foley, arrested June 24 and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance near County Road 12 in Foley.

Walker, who was allegedly in possession of marijuana, was released on a $5,000 bail.

• Michael Cleveland Rolin, 35, of Mango Street, Bay Minette, charged with possession of a controlled substance.

According to court documents, Rolin was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine when he was arrested June 27 near Coleman Road at Railroad Street.

He remains in jail on a $10,000 bond, according to court records.
