LOXLEY, Ala. — New town council member Michael Allegri was sworn in by Judge Michael Dasinger at the start of the Loxley Town Council meeting Monday evening, Nov. 9. Allegri was selected to fill the vacancy created when Derek Middleton resigned recently.
The new council member joined his fellow members to work on the following:
The council received a letter from Mitchell Davenport of Gulf Coast Capital LP requesting the dedication for the “streets, curbs and gutters” within the Loxley Station development for town maintenance. After it was learned that a one-year maintenance bond had been posted, the motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved an application for a liquor license for El Paisita on Hickory Street.
The council also unanimously approved Resolution 2009-24, endorsing the use of County Road 83 to connect Intestates 10 and 65. The route would provide direct access to the proposed Hybrid Kinetic auto plant in Bay Minette. The resolution opposed more easterly routes favored by the Alabama Department of Transportation.
The council also:
— Approved a resolution recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Loxley United Methodist Church.
— Approved a request to purchase an ad in the Robertsdale High yearbook. The council approved taking a half page ad for $160.
— Approved an ad request for Central Baldwin Magazine, a publication by the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. The council approved a $1,200 half-page color ad in that publication.
— Approved a four-way stop sign at the intersection of Cypress Street and Loxley Avenue.
