Allie Mae Dukes, age 87, born in Pineville, Fla., and a resident of the Pine Grove community of Bay Minette, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at her niece's resident, Lynn Smith, who has been caring for her for two years. She was a personnel administrator (retired) with K-Mart Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Dukes and son, Steve Dukes. She is survived by her son, Johnny Dukes of Pine Grove; brothers, Claude Leroy Stewart of Pensacola, Lloyd Alfred Stewart of Summerdale, Ruben Fredrick Stewart of Holly Springs, Miss; sister, Beatrice Stewart Landers of Magnolia Springs; her friend and caregiver of many years, Carolyn Bush; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Banning officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rob Taylor, Glen Perkins, Jamie Peak, John Peak, Gary Rountree and Gerald Malone.
