Jordan Ezkiel Ammons, 96, born Dec. 5, 1912 in Andalusia, a resident of Perdido, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.
He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Perdido Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lodusky Walter Ammons; a son, Ernest Roger Ammons; and a brother, John Ammons.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Brown Ammons; five sons, William Lloyd (Shirley) Ammons, Marvin Floyd (Marie) Ammons, Rayford Lee ((Patricia) Ammons, Walter Edward(Robin) Ammons and Robert Clint Ammons, all of Perdido; two daughters, Glenda Ilene (Henry) Niedergeses of Perdido and Shelia Ann (Johnny) Wooten of Cantonment, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Perdido Baptist Church with Troy Gibson officiating. Burial followed at Perdido Baptist Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Joe Shiver, Phillip Hadley, Tim Hadley, John Daw, Nip Hadley and Ross Brown.
Arrangements were made by Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., Atmore.
