Andrew Lee Mund, 89, a lifelong resident of the Oyster Bay community of Gulf Shores, passed from this life on Sunday, March 24, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Doretta Nelson Mund; five children, Andrew Wayne (Lenora) Mund of Summerdale, Malinda Darlene (Stephen) Arnould of Gulf Shores, Mark Edward (Elizabeth) Mund of Gulf Shores, Torrey Thadd (Teresa) Mund of Stockbridge, Ga. and Janna Arlene Lanier of Foley; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Except for the years spent in military service during WWII in the Pacific, Capt. Andrew (as he was known) made his living in commercial fishing out of the port of Bon Secour.
After coming to know the Lord in 1964, he has been a witness of the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ to people on land and on sea. He finished his course as a member of Fishermen Baptist Church, Bon Secour.
Services were held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Fishermen Baptist Church, with burial in Fishermen Riverview Cemetery.
