Andy Curtis McCants, a native of Hybert, Ala. and resident of Point Clear, was born March 30, 1940 and passed this life on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ward McCants Sr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade (Matilda) McCants, Andy Dukes and Helen Dukes; brothers, Bill Lee Howard, Leon McCants and Barry McCants; sisters, Christine and Bernice McCants; and one nephew, Barry Gray.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving, devoted mother, Rosielee McCants; a loving and devoted special friend, Ms. Addie Goldsmith; two children, Ron (Latonya) McCants and Melanie McCants; five grandchildren, Labrandon, Lakendra, Taikia, Trevoughn and Donte; three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Byron and Byrianna McCants; five sisters, Minnie Leath, Helen McCants, Shirley Betha, Matilda Bingham and Jane (Kerry) Gray; an aunt, Izola (Burnell) Wasp; best friends for many years, Johnny Lee Stanton and Dewitt Hooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and other friends.
The home-going celebration will be Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 200 S. Section St. in Fairhope. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
