Anita Kingston Martinez, 84, born Dec. 6, 1926, a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 after a brief illness.
She and her husband travelled many years before settling in Oklahoma City where they raised their two sons.
They returned to Mobile where she was employed by Zundels until her retirement. Anita was very social and had many friends, old and new. She enjoyed going to the casinos and playing cards every afternoon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anita Kingston; her husband, Owen Martinez; sister and brother-in-law, Ramona and Bob Doyle; brother, Henry; and niece, Lynette.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Bernie) Martinez and Tommy (Tiffany)Martinez; two grandchildren, Alex and Beth; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 10 at St.Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope.
