Annette Mitchell to be sworn in as Orange Beach council member Aug. 19

ORANGE BEACH, AL. - Annette Mitchell will be sworn in as City of Orange Beach Councilwoman tomorrow, Tuesday, August 19th at 4pm in Council Chambers at City Hall in Orange Beach, Al.

Mrs. Mitchell moved to Orange Beach in 2000 after running car dealerships in the midwest and has been actively serving on the City Finance Committee, Planning Commission, the Gulf Coast Health Care Authority and the Orange Beach Advisory Committee.

"I am not a politician," Mitchell said during her post appointment speech, "I've spent five years, for any of you who don't know me, volunteering in an advisory capacity to help this council, this city staff and our mayor to make the best decisions possible to run our city."

In addition to her service to the City of Orange Beach, Annette Mitchell also proudly serves as an usher and on the Finance Committee at St. Thomas by the Sea Church, President of the Orange Beach Garden Club, on the executive board of Sirens of the Sea Mardi Gras krewe and as primary caretaker of her mother.

Mrs. Mitchell was picked unanimously by the council to fill the Place 1 seat left vacant by the death of Councilman Al Bradley. She served with Bradley on the city's finance committee.
