Annie “Madea” Seals, 83, a long-time resident of Latham, died peacefully,

Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

She was a sweet and caring person beloved by her large family and friends.

She was known as “Madea” to mostly everyone who came in contact with her.

She loved to cook and bake, and often did.

Survivors include sister, Rosetta Brown of Latham; brother, Lawrence Carter of Harrisburg, Pa.; eight daughters, Shirley Bussey of Carson, Calif; Helen (Jonathan) Henry of Newark, Del., Cathy (Ed) Long of

Missouri City, Virginia Barnes of Carson, Calif., Brenda (Jerome) Smith of

Cordova, Tenn., twins, Kimberly Seales and Karen Seales, both of Cordova, Tenn;

and Yvonne Seales of Latham; four sons, John Seales Jr. of Bay Minette, Samuel (Annie Sharon) Seales of Junction, Kan., Charles Seales of Los Angeles and Christopher Seales of Latham; two godsons, Willie Lee and Speedy Stevens; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18 at Zion Fountain A.M.E. Zion Church in Stockton.

Arrangements were made by Mayberry Funeral Home, Atmore.
