Annie Smith McBroom, 90, died April 27, 2013 during the early morning hours at her residence. Mrs. McBroom was born in Mobile on May 1, 1922 to Hector Embree and Teaney Louise Smith.
She was a longtime resident of Fairhope with her husband, Sherwood C. McBroom. They moved to Fairhope from Spring Hill, Ala. in 1947.
She has been a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Fairhope.
She retired from civil service at Pensacola Naval Air Station.
She was a devoted wife, mother of six, grandmother of 11 and great grandmother to seven.
Mrs. McBroom is survived by her husband, Sherwood; and one sister, Mary Leah Mason, five children Sherwood Jr., Toledo Ohio, Richard, Kansas City, Mo., Barbara Williams, Atmore, Nancy, Bisbee, Ariz. and Mary Luanne Wetzel, Tuscon, Ariz.
There will be a memorial service at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013, followed by a reception.
