Another Bear "Invasion" reported…this time at Magnolia Blossom in Robertsdale

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — There was another Bear attack on Tuesday night but fortunately no humans were injured…but the buffet bar suffered a massive blow.

That is, after the Robertsdale High School Golden Bear football team got through with it.

This “invasion” occurred at Magnolia Blossom in Robertsdale, the second one this summer, but owner Darlene Roper was only too happy to be “invaded” by the hungry teenagers.

“I think this is a great thing for the team and I enjoy being able to feed them. I think it’s good for the community to support our team and I encourage them to visit as many restaurants as they can,” Roper said.

During the year Roper provides pre-game meals for the team before their games and is more than glad to be able to do it. “ I love these boys and they love to eat. Chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes are their favorites, I think.”

These “invasions” are part of an initiative by the Bear Club to boost morale among the team and the community and allow them to get to know each other better. To show her appreciation for the team, Roper prepared a cake and it was devoured along with the rest of the food.

With 120 players on the team this year, the Bears are getting ready for an exciting year and have been getting their workouts with several camps and seven on seven sessions throughout the summer.

“They have won 12 seven on seven games, lost only one and had three ties. They are playing in Gulf Shores today,” said Bear Club member Billy Mosley on Thursday.

Gearing up for their first game next month, senior quarterback Hunter Vaughn, along with teammates Chase Hadley (WR), Sammy Tolbert (RB) and Matthew Maddox (WR) have one thing on their minds: Winning!

The next “invasion” will take place at GooRoo’s in August.
