ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The City of Robertsdale is reporting overflows at the lift station on College Street for the second time this week because of heavy rainfall.

According to a press release issued Wednesday, April 15 by the Baldwin County Health Department, the lift station at 22891 College Street and two manholes overflowed because of heavy rainfall.

The estimated volume of overflow is between 10,000 and 100,000 gallons of sewage being discharged into Rock Creek.

This follows a report on Monday, April 13, from the Health Department that the city reported an overflow at the lift station, also between 10,000 and 100,000 gallons of discharge.

The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using Rock Creek for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught nearby and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
