FAIRHOPE, Ala. - For the second time in as many weeks, the Baldwin County Department of Health has issued a public health advisory, warning that swimming at the Fairhope Public Beach could "lead to an increased risk of illness."
The swimming advisory was issued Saturday, April 30, following two successive tests of poor swimming water quality at the Fairhope beach, which exceeded EPA testing thresholds for marine water, according to an April 30 county health department news release.
The April 30 swimming advisory followed a release last weekend that remained in effect through the Earth Day weekend, which was lifted later this past week, before the second advisory was issued today.
The site will be retested Monday, May 2, the release stated.
