DAPHNE, Ala.—The Daphne Police Department reported that Eddie Wayne Hobbs, Jr., 20, of Daphne, surrendered to police on Thursday.

Daphne Police Sgt. Brian Gulsby said a family member brought Hobbs in to the police department.

Hobbs was arrested by the Daphne Police Department, but he was transferred to the custody of the U.S. Marshal in Mobile where he is being held on a federal charge, Gulsby said.

Gulsby said Hobbs will face the federal charges against him before the charges from the Daphne Police Department are addressed.

Hobbs had multiple warrants out for his arrest including a federal warrant for being in possession of a stolen weapon. The stolen weapon charge was issued after Daphne Police found Hobbs with the weapon after a foot chase following a high-speed chase police said.

The other charges against Hobbs include carrying a pistol without a permit, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, firing a firearm within the city limits and six failure to appear warrants according to a press release.

The Daphne PD was searching for Hobbs along with the U.S. Marshal’s Office in Mobile.
