Arrest made in Gulf Shores arson case

On December 22, the Gulf Shores Police and Gulf Shores Fire Department responded to 1248 West Lagoon Drive for a house fire. After the fire was extinguished it was determined the fire was suspicious and appeared to be arson.

The residence was unoccupied when the fire was started.

While working with the Gulf Shores Fire Department and the State Fire Marshalls Office, the Gulf Shores Police were able to develop enough evidence to make an arrest.

Arrested in connection with this case is George Tucker Grau.

This remains an active case and is still under investigation. Anybody with information is encouraged to call the Gulf shores Police.

In connection with the fire at this duplex Grau has been charged with:

Two counts arson 2nd

Two counts criminal mischief 1st

One count burglary 3rd
