Arthur C. Parker Sr., 82, a native of Mobile and resident of Robertsdale, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
Mr. Parker served in the United States Army, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He retired from Scott Paper Co., and was a member of the Mechanical Pipe Fitters Union Local No. 119. Mr. Parker was also a construction consultant for several industrial contractors.
He was a deacon, and a dedicated and active member of the Robertsdale First Baptist Church. He went on several local and international mission trips through Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, and was their coordinator for 10 years.
Mr. Parker’s survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathleen A. Parker of Robertsdale; daughter, Anita (Pat) Duck of Loxley; two sons, Arthur C. (Cindy) Parker Jr. of Robertsdale and Karl (Janine) Parker of Foley; a sister, Jewel Crane of Terre Haute, Ind.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Robertsdale First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Copeland and the Rev. Richard Hebert officiating. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 6-8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home.
