Arthur Ray Goins

Arthur Ray Goins, 69, a native of Greenville and a resident of the Crossroads community of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at his residence.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the U.S. Army; and was an assembly line worker (retired) in the window and door manufacturing business.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Norman Goins and Velma Marla Goins; son, Tony Fleming; brother Joe Goins; and seven sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Knowles Goins of Crossroads; son, Terry Goins of Germany; three daughters, Ramona Goins of Germany, Kathy Dye of Crossroads and Wendy Henderson of Crossroads; three grandchildren, Joe Dye of Cantonment, Fla., Brent Powell of Birmingham and Kane Powell of Crossroads; three great-grandchildren, Rissa Dye, Tommy Dye, both of Cantonment, Fla., and Lorali Powell of Birmingham; two brothers, Bud Goins of Bay Minette and Leroy Goins of Roswell, New Mexico; and three sisters, Callie Mae Hickman of Greenville, Wilma Lyman of Georgia and Eloise Cushion of Bay Minette.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. J.P. Lambert officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Nora Goins, 8218 Hurricane Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
