ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Beach CITE Studios was filled June 19 with guests, members, artists and performers for A Taste of Beach CITE. The event enabled guests to visualize the teaching and learning experiences the studio has to offer.
Many of the summer series instructors were on the grounds to strengthen the positive teaching and learning experiences Beach CITE is offering to members and guests.
All the studio rooms were filled with demonstrations on drawing, wire-wrapping jewelry, photography, nuno scarf making and organizing.
“The diversity of the studios made the event wonderful, and it was inspiring to see guests enjoying a variety of different art experiences,” said Executive Director Jim Coughlin.
On the first floor of the studio is the listening room, where Al Martin played the classics on Beach CITE’s Steinway piano.
Martin has been entertaining residents of Pensacola for many years, and is quickly becoming a Beach CITE favorite. His talent was evident when guests were remarking on the way Martin impressed and inspired.
From the balcony upstairs, an incredible acoustic performance by Veinmelter entertained guest throughout SanRoc Cay.
Beach CITE was honored to have the talents of the professional summer theater of The University of Alabama to perform selections from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The seventh annual SummerTide Theater is performing at the George C. Meyer Performing Arts Center in Gulf Shores.
The young performers’ energy and enthusiasm made it easy for them to adapt to the relaxed environment in Beach CITE’s listening room.
Kim Asbury, of Ginny Lane and Villagio, impressed the crowds with fresh crab bruschetta and their infamous spinach artichoke dip.
The smell of fresh-baked cookies filled the studio as guests were being entertained throughout the four-hour event.
Jessica Jensen was the featured dancer at a Taste of Beach CITE. You may know her from “So You Think You Can Dance,” where she made it to the last elimination before the finals.
Jensen has a passion for dancing, and the love of the art has only increased since she lost her hand to a rare form of cancer several years ago. Her poise and passion will keep her sharing her talents with dancers of all ages.
The belief at Beach CITE Studios is to encourage others to get involved, volunteer, be a member, take a class and share talents.
Beach CITE Studios was created to provide art experiences, promote creativity, bring people together, inspire success and impart positive values.
Beach CITE Studios is a nonprofit organization providing an opportunity to serve as a “Community Interactive Teaching Experience” that could enrich the lives of the residents and guests along the Gulf Coast.
