FOLEY — The Foley Performing Arts Association will host its annual Snowbird Reception this week.
The free event will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the P.A.A. located at 116 W. Laurel Ave. in Foley.
The day will include light snacks and door prizes, as well as more than 30 volunteers and artists on hand to welcome winter guests. Additionally, the works of featured artists David Lumpkin of Madisonville, La., and Sue Pezeley of Foley will be on display.
According to Association Director Bonnie Blaylock, the annual event is a tradition that spans more than three decades.
“This is a way for Foley businesses and the performing-arts community to greet our winter visitors,” she said in a phone interview.
It’s a successful tradition, she added.
“We always have about 300, at least,” Blaylock said of the attendance.
Helping to make the tradition possible this year are sponsors that include Southern Chevrolet, Medi-Stat, BanCorp South and South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
