Audrey Elizabeth Vines Wilhelm-Buttell

Audrey Elizabeth Vines Wilhelm-Buttell, 66, departed her earthly life April 1, 2014, surrounded by loved ones at her residence in Fairhope after an extended illness.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Buttell; her sons, Tracy Wilhelm (Janet), Trent Wilhelm (Donna) and Brandt Wilhelm (Amy); grandsons, Alex, Harrison, Camden and Hunter; granddaughter, Sydney Wilhelm; special family friends, Sharrie, Logan and Isabelle Cranford; as well as a host of other close family members and friends.

Audrey was a longtime practicing psychologist in Baldwin and Mobile counties, having obtained her master’s degree in psychology from the University of South Alabama.

She will be remembered for her dedication to all of those she served. After her long service with the Mobile Mental Health Center, Audrey had her private practice that concluded her career at Searcy Hospital.

She had a great love of nature and was known for her many collectible gatherings such as driftwood, seashells and historical artifacts.

She enjoyed spending time by the water, in the woods and mountains throughout her love of travel, including trips to Colorado, Europe and Canada.

She was a proud homeowner and was passionate about having renovated her old family home in Mississippi where she spent many happy hours enjoying her life with family and friends.

Audrey will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, as well as her work with children and adults throughout the course of her long career.

She will be sadly missed and respected by all.

There will be a graveside service in Stateline, Miss. at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, followed by a memorial service at St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society and the Child Advocacy Center in Mobile.
