FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Page & Palette in Fairhope will host authors Mary Palmer and James McEnery May 15, from 2–4 pm. They will sign copies of their book “Quest for Forgiveness.”

This soul-baring autobiography of a young boy and his brother who were abandoned by their parents and family to live in orphanages, first at Saint Thomas on the Hill in Birmingham and then in the Mobile at the Catholic Boys Home (now home of Mobile Gas).

This is an uplifting story of the human spirit overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles.

McEnery was raised in Birmingham and Mobile. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, and traveled the world and across the U.S., from the Far East to Europe from 1966-1988.

He then worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers, from 1988 until 2008.

Palmer is an adjunct faculty member of Faulkner State Community College and Faulkner University. She has published, “The Callings,” co-authored with Loretta Theriot and “MemoraMobileia: Alabama Gulf Coast Potpourri and False Gods.” co-authored with Elizabeth Coffman.
