FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope, will have author Nancy Anderson for a signing on Feb. 25, from 3–5 p.m. Her book, “Tough Talks for Tough Times,” will appeal to a wide groups of readers with common problems.
Your credit card is over the limit. Your job is in jeopardy. You don’t know if you can make the next mortgage payment and your 401(k) is quickly disappearing. What do you do?
Now is the time to get serious about managing your money and controlling your debt. In “Tough Talk for Tough Times,” Dr. Anderson explains the world of Wall Street in language that Main Street can understand. She uses her own experience and family life to help readers take control of their finances during these difficult times.
Her easy-to-remember tips and common sense approach will take the fear out of money management.
Anderson has been in the investment business for more than 20 years. For the past 15, she has run her own financial advisory business, New Perspective Inc., located in Ridgeland, Miss.
Anderson has her Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in finance from Mississippi State University, and is also an assistant professor of finance at Mississippi College.
In 1996, she received her designation as a chartered financial analyst and has served as president of the CFA Society of Mississippi.
Currently, she is the only woman in Mississippi holding both a CFA charter and a Ph.D.
Anderson is co-host of the Mississippi Public Broadcasting radio show, “Money Talks.”
She serves on the board for the Mississippi Council on Economic Education.
Anderson lives with her husband in Clinton, Miss., where she waits patiently for grandchildren.
The bookstore will then welcome author Sheila Booth-Alberstadt on Feb. 27, from 2–4 pm, when she will sign copies of her just-released book, “Maggie McNair Has Spiders in Her Hair.”
In the book Maggie McNair, like many other children, doesn’t want her hair brushed.
After much persuasion and struggle, Maggie’s mother gives up and decides to let Maggie learn a lesson the hard way.
Ironically, threats turn to reality when Maggie McNair discovers a spider in her hair.
In this humorously, entertaining story, Booth-Alberstadt tells a “slightly” exaggerated tale that will keep both children and adults amused to the very last page.
While attempting to help her own child with hair-brushing issues, Booth-Alberstadt has ingeniously solved a daily challenge she and many others have experienced with other children alike.
Through vibrant illustrations, Maggie McNair is set to become a much-loved and favorite character in everyone’s life.
The author will also sign copies of her recently re-released book “An Angel in the Sky,” written specially for chronically ill children or kids and families confronted by end of life issues.
Booth-Alberstadt was born in Kristiansund, Norway, raised in Vero Beach, Fla., educated in Massachusetts and now lives in Fairhope with her husband, Stephen, and children, Signe, Sam, Saxon, Saylor, Payton and Logan.
She started Booth-Alberstadt insurance agency/Farmers Insurance Group in Daphne in 1997.
After the birth of her third child, she decided to stay at home and her husband took over the agency.
She home-schooled for several years until the birth of her fourth child. She now spends much of her spare time writing books and providing her family a happy home.
The authors will exclusively sign all books purchased from Page & Palette.
