BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Two tasty fundraisers are coming up in Bay Minette.
The first is a spaghetti lunch benefitting the North Baldwin Coalition for Excellence in Education.
The lunch will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the Kahalley House, 400 W. Second St.
According to Kahalley House co-owner Rhonda Cockrell, the event will be informal.
“It’s just going to be a buffet lunch,” she said in a telephone interview.
The menu will consist of a spaghetti bake, salad, garlic bread and a choice of tea or a soft drink.
But that’s not all. Patrons will have their choice of desserts.
“All my desserts are homemade,” Cockrell said.
Meals are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. According to A news release from NBCEE, a portion of the proceeds will go toward the organization that supports all nine North Baldwin County public schools.
“The education foundation awards grants to teachers in north Baldwin schools, honors area teachers of the year and this year begins its inaugural offerings of educational summer camps for students,” the release states. “Members will be on hand Sunday to assist with the luncheon and to provide additional information about the foundation.”
The next day will also hold a benefit lunch, as RSVP Inc. of Baldwin County hosts Taste Our Chili.
The event is slated for 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 120 W. Second St.
Caterer Pat Snyder will lead a team of volunteers in preparing a menu of chili, rice, crackers, dessert and tea. The meals will be available for $6.50 for carry-out lunches, which don’t include tea, and $7 for dining in. Delivery is available for orders of five or more.
“All proceeds will benefit RSVP of Baldwin County,” a news release states. “RSVP promotes the engagement of older persons as community resources in planning for community improvements and in delivery of volunteer services.”
