ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Up for some baked crickets or banana meal worm bread?

How about some insect lollipops or larvae worm snacks?

No, it’s not the latest episode of “Survivor” but it is “Fear Factor” for the stomach as Robertsdale Elementary School and Campbell’s Hardware hosts its third annual “Wild Game Night “on Thursday, November 4 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria and multipurpose room.

Tickets for the event are $6 for adults and $4 for students and may be purchased at the door, said Lauren Sanders, event coordinator. Adults are encouraged to wear their camouflage and students will be allowed to wear their camouflage to school that day.

Guaranteed to please the taste buds of any avid outdoorsman, there will be a wide variety of game to sample including venison, quail, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, fish, alligator and various kinds of seafood, Sanders said.

In addition to the delicious food, Gary Finch, host of “Alabama Outdoors” hunting show, will be on hand along with Wes Moore of Alligator Alley. Christ Linton , a local teacher will be talking about gun safety, Shonda Borden of Five Rivers Resource center in Bay Minette will have animals on display and bow techs Dr. Brian Pierce, Ben Selman and Chris Nelson will be on hand as well.

Also, Campbell’s Taxidermy will have animals on display and Baldwin County Victory Polaris will be displaying their four wheelers, Sanders said.

Entertainment for the evening is local Bluegrass band “Four Chords and the Truth” led by Robertsdale’s own Brad Kendrick and there will also be a Silent Auction featuring gift baskets from different grade levels, Sanders said. Bill and Shelby from WKSJ’s Morning Show will be there as well.

For the kids, there will be a mix of games and activities inside to enjoy while the adults enjoy the food and entertainment.

A larger number of vendors will have booths set up that include: Bill Booker, honey, Kim Gilreath, Scentsy Candles, Holly Crawford, meat , fish and poultry rubs, Karen Bill, Silver Basket, jewelry, Suzie Wilder, Premier Jewelry, Jon Kittrell, Kitrell’s Honey/soap, Allison Beck, goodie sweets table, James Beck, turkey caller, Donnie Paul and Keith Phildius, deer stands, Beverly Blakeny, jewelry, Jennifer Cook, cake walk, Anna’s Apron’s, Jodi Fidler, Bay Child, Candy Sand Art, Brandi Darden and Cindy Schultz, Brian Pierce, Scent Killer and Theresa Peel and Roberta Mullek, tables and chairs for kids.

Door prizes, raffles and non-game dishes will also be offered, Sanders said.

“This is our third year to do this and we always have such great support from the community. All the money raised will go toward the PTO and trying to get more playground equipment and picnic tables. I want to especially thank Dennis Calvert who helps me do all the cooking and is my right hand in this event. I could not do it without his expertise and experience,” Sanders said.

About 500 attended last year and Sanders is hoping for more this year. “We have so many neat things this year and hope everyone comes out to support us. It’s gonna be a fun night.”
