Local, county and state officials joined more than 300 residents Friday at the intersection of the Baldwin Beach Express and U.S. Highway 90 for the groundbreaking and celebration of the Baldwin Beach Express and Intersate 10 interchange. Officials included Gov. Robert Bently, former Gov. Fob James, former Rep. Sonny Callahan, and Tim James, along with Alabama Transportation Director John Cooper. The new $10.6 million interchange will be the final of four projects linking the interstate to the existing Foley Beach Express.
