Family Service Center of Bay Minette is in need of canned goods and monetary donations for their food pantry. For more information, call  937-7858.

St. Agatha’s Women’s Club’s Annual Salad Luncheon will be held Monday, August 23 from 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. in the parish hall, 1001 Hand Ave in Bay Minette.

2010 Gulf Coast Coin and Currency Show

Sponsored by the South Baldwin Numismatic Association, will be held Aug. 14, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Aug. 15, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Loxley Civic Center. For more information and sponsorship levels, contact Robert Jenkins, 251-943-5621, or Todd Mueller, 648-2352.

The South Baldwin Republican Women’s Club will host “Celebrate Alabama” Rally in the Coliseum in Robertsdale on August 14th 3- 6 p.m.. Admission is free.

Special guest will be Governor Bob Riley.

 A partial list of other guests will include: Dr. Robert Bentley, Republican candidate for Governor; Congressman Jo Bonner; State Treasurer Kay Ivey; State Auditor, Sam Shaw; State Representative Joe Faust; Circuit Court Judge Jim Reid; Circuit Court Judge Bob Wilters; Probate Judge Tim Russell; State Senator Tripp Pittman; State Rep. Randy Davis; State Rep.Steve McMillan; Sheriff Hoss Mack; District Attorney-elect, Hallie Dixon, and Mrs. Alabama, Barbara Shepherd, will be the featured vocalist.

Candidates for the November election are expected to be present. All State and County Republican officials and Republican nominees are invited. Please advise Becky Vasko at 251-945-6077 if you plan to attend.

Along with special guests and music there will be children’s activities. There will be free hot dogs, chips and drinks. Many door prizes, and four $50 Saving Bonds will be raffled off. There will be tables for patriotic jewelry, including Tea Party Jewelry, bumper stickers, hats and t-shirts. The candidates will also distribute campaign materials.

The South Baldwin Republican Women meet the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Gift Horse Restaurant in Foley, at 11:30.  A buffet lunch is $10.  Everyone is invited.

BALDWIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL 2ND ANNUAL FALL GOLF TOURNAMENT will be held Aug. 14, 8:30 a.m., at Holly Hills Golf Course in Bay Minette. To sign up a four-person scramble team, contact Robert Wills at (251) 213-0043.

The Hot Shop’s First Anniversary Party will be held Aug. 21, 6-9 p.m. Live demonstrations, raffles and music. The Hot Shop is located at 26389 Canal Road in Orange Beach. 251-981-2787.

197th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Mims will be re-enacted at Fort Mims Aug. 28-29. Event will include period demonstrations, live music, food, vendors and other entertainment.

The Baldwin County Junior Miss 2011 program, "Picture Perfect." Twenty-four Baldwin County senior girls will compete at the program, set for Aug. 28 at Faulkner State Community College’s Performing Arts Center in Bay Minette.

Community Cleanup Day, hosted by the city of Fairhope, will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, 9.m. To noon, in conjunction with the Alabama Coastal Cleanup. Civic groups, churches, boy/girl scout troops, homeowner associations and/or individuals are invited to call and sign-up to participate.

Thomas Hospital 50th Anniversary Homecoming will be held Sunday, Sept. 19, 2-5 p.m. at the hospital on Greeno Road in Fairhope.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) will hold a grassroots meeting, hosted by The Haven and the Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!), to connect with area animal advocates on the topic of animal protection, possible legislation and public policy. This meeting will be held Sept. 23, 6-8 p.m., at the Fairhope Civic Center.

REUNION

The C. F. Vigor High Class of 1975, is making plans for a Reunion Event to be held on December 11, 2010. They are asking all Vigor Classmates of 1975 to the “Celebration of 35 Years of Excellence”.  The next reunion planning meeting will be held on August 14, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Reese Funeral Home and hosted by Mr. Allen Rice.
