ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Small businesses in Baldwin County who are members of their local Chamber of Commerce are invited to take advantage of a benefit program administered by the Iron ReHealth Association through the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.
The Alabama Chambers Benefit Program “helps members reduce health benefit costs by providing a unique, specialized program tailored to small and mid-sized businesses that emphasizes wellness, cost saving education and concierge-level service,” according to information provided to Chamber members.
“Businesses with two to 50 employees now have an opportunity through this program to control their healthcare costs like Fortune 500 companies do,” said Marty Vice, manager, Distribution with Iron ReHealth.
To be eligible for the program:
• Businesses must be a member of a local chamber (who is a participating Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama member).
• Employees must be working full-time (at least 30 hours a week).
• The company must have two or more employees to apply.
Independent contractors are not eligible for the benefits program.
“We currently have about 5,000 lives in the program with 45 chambers participating,” Vice said. All five chambers in Baldwin County: Central Baldwin Chamber, North Baldwin Chamber, South Baldwin Chamber, Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and Eastern Shore Chamber, have signed up to participate.
The program utilizes the BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama Network and provides a customer service team “dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience.”
The program also offers access to the Smart Health 360 wellness program and 24/7 access to Teladoc, ($0 co-pay) where members can talk to a doctor by phone or video.
Those who sign up for the program will have access to multiple plans through the BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama network and each individual employee can choose the right plan for them, Vice said.
Dental and vision packages are also available.
