BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Commission recognized Employees of the Quarter, representing several departments, during a recent meeting in Bay Minette.
Donna Bryars, who works in accounting and finance, “promotes a sense of togetherness” in the department, according to clerk-treasurer Kim Creech.
“She has done a wonderful job and her peers have honored her,” Creech said.
Nancy Banks has grown through the county ranks from telephone operator to an asset in the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency, according to director Mitchell Sims.
“She’s the go-to person,” Mitchell told commissioners. “We have a knowledge base in Baldwin County, and it’s called Nancy Banks.”
Commissioner Charles Gruber described Banks as “energetic and helpful” to the public.
“You have helped in a number of emergencies, and I know you like to help people,” Gruber said.
Jaroslav-Koutny, who has worked in the highway department for 2.5 years, arrived in the county from the Czech Republic 13 years ago.
“I met a girl from Foley, and we married,” he told commissioners. “We have two children and hope to stay in Baldwin County forever.”
County Engineer Cal Markert called him “a great person to work with” and said he sought out and mastered whatever jobs were needed to be accomplished.
