FAIRHOPE, Alabama (GCN)—The formation of an aviation training center for Baldwin County and South Alabama students, which is expected to enroll its first class in January 2014, was announced today at the Fairhope airport.
The center will provide technical training to prepare students for careers in the aeronautics industry.
The long-awaited aviation training program has been a partnership project of Faulkner State Community College, Baldwin County Schools, Enterprise State Community College, the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance and the Fairhope Airport Authority.
A number of local elected officials, education and business leaders attended this morning’s news conference to show their support for an initiative that has been some five years in the making.
