Baldwin County Heritage Museum Expands Exhibit For 4-H

Posted

The BALDWIN COUNTY HERITAGE MUSEUM has expanded their exhibit for the 4-H groups of Baldwin County debuting at the  Robertsdale Fair this week. The presentation uses antique farm tools and equipment with copies of vintage publications used to educate the 4-H Club youth in 1931.

BCHM has reproduced a series of questions for the 4-H boys and girls from an Agricultura Extension article of 1931. You may pick up a copy of this brochure at the exhibit. Fill in the answers and deliver or mail your answers to the museum, It will be entered in a drawing to be held on Nov. 1, 2010. You do not have to be present to win. Prizes range from miniature  Christmas Trees to Gift Baskets of assorted food items.BCHM needs photographs, ribbons and other 4-H memorabilia. Photographs are scanned and saved in the museum archives. If you have an item that helps tell the story of the 4-H Clubs of the county, we hope you will consider participating in this exhibit with a gift or loan of an artifact. Every exhibit needs financial sponsors to fund the preservation and restoration of the artifacts it contains or to purchase an exhibit module to house the collection.

BCHM is always eager and enthusiastic about working with area youth and agricultural groups. We partner with the 4-H, Junior Master Gardner’s, Boy Scouts, home school and church groups. For more information on how the museum can work with your youth group, contact the museum at 251-986-8375, or email bchm@gulftel.com.

Visit the museum at 122521 Hwy. 98 E., Elberta, AL - approximately 3 miles east of the Beach Express. Open Wed – Sat. 10am to 4pm. Closed all national holidays. FREE admission.
