The Baldwin County High School Athletics Department will hold its annual Drawdown on July 31, featuring a cash prize of up to $5,000.
The fundraiser will take place at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center in Bay Minette. Tickets are $100 per couple, which includes dinner, silent auction and live musical entertainment and the chance to win the cash prize.
Athletic Director Nathan McDaniel said the drawdown is a fun event that not only raises money for the school, but provides a fun outing for Tiger fans.
“We are really excited about the Drawdown. It’s a great opportunity to showcase our athletic programs and our school,” McDaniel said. “The Drawdown last year was a major success. It’s a lot of fun for our community and our fans and it’s an opportunity to come and have a great meal, great music, great dancing and a chance to win $5,000.”
Entertainment will be provided by City Rhythm Big Band and DJ Buddy Brock.
Last year’s event raised more than $20,000 for the school’s athletic department. Committee member William Jones said this year’s event promises to be just as successful.
“The committee members revamped the event last year in an effort to make it more fun and entertaining. This year, keeping the same goal in mind, I’m certain it will be an even bigger hit,” he said. “For those who love to give back and have a good time while doing so, the BCHS Drawdown presents you with that opportunity. The profits from the Drawdown directly benefit the BCHS football program, cheerleading squads, auxiliary teams and other sports on campus.”
McDaniel said ticket sales have been brisk and he encourages all Tiger fans to make their purchase early. “Only 250 tickets are available and they will go fast. Be sure and reserve your tickets today,” he said.
Tickets can be purchased through Booster Club members and athletes, Bay Minette City Hall and at the school. For ticket information, call Elizabeth McMillan at 251-937-2341.
The Drawdown Committee is also collecting items for the silent auction. For more information about the auction, or to donate an item, call Tina Covington at 251-580-1625.
